Detailed Review
GEAR AID Revivex Down Cleaner is a specialized liquid detergent formulated to wash down-filled garments and gear without compromising their insulation. Designed for outerwear, bedding, and camping equipment, it removes built-up grime while helping restore the natural loft and warmth of feathers.
The gentle formula is free of perfumes, fabric softeners, and optical brighteners, making it safe for both delicate natural fills and technical shell fabrics. It works across a wide range of items, including treated down, down blends, vests, parkas, sleeping bags, comforters, and pillows.
Each 10 fl oz concentrated pouch provides enough cleaning liquid for up to 10 jackets or 5 sleeping bags. Because it is HE compatible, you can use it in high-efficiency washers as well as traditional machines without causing excessive suds.
A practical limitation is the single 10 fl oz pouch format, which regular gear owners might run through quickly if washing large items like multiple duvets. The seller also notes that packaging design may vary from order to order.
Verdict: This cleaner is an excellent choice for anyone needing a safe, additive-free wash for down jackets, sleeping bags, or feather bedding. It provides concentrated cleaning power that maintains insulation across multiple machine cycles.
