Hoover PowerScrub XL Pet Carpet Cleaner Machine for Carpet and Upholstery

The Hoover PowerScrub XL Pet is a dedicated carpet and upholstery cleaning machine designed to tackle ground-in dirt, everyday spills, and pet messes. It is built for homeowners who need a capable upright washer for full-room floor cleaning along with the flexibility to spot-treat fabric furniture.

For floor cleaning, the machine uses five counter-rotating SpinScrub brushes that work directly into carpet fibers to dislodge tough stains. Hoover pairs this brush setup with HeatForce technology to assist with faster drying times. When you only need to touch up a high-traffic patch rather than deep-clean an entire room, you can switch to Quick Clean mode for a faster wash and dry cycle.

Above-floor versatility comes from the included 8-foot hose, which attaches to either the dedicated pet tool or the scrubbing upholstery tool. Managing your cleaning fluid is also simplified thanks to an Auto Mix system, which dispenses the proper ratio of solution and water without manual measuring. The package also includes a TruMAX recovery tank to extend run time between emptying, a nozzle cleanout tool, a storage bag, and a sample bottle of cleaning solution.

One trade-off to keep in mind is that the product specifications do not state the exact gallon capacity of the tanks or the overall weight of the upright unit. Additionally, the included solution is only a sample size, so regular maintenance will require buying additional Hoover Everyday or Pet formulas.

Verdict: The Hoover PowerScrub XL Pet is a solid choice for pet owners and busy households wanting an all-in-one carpet and furniture cleaner. It offers strong scrubbing mechanics, flexible attachments, and quick-cleaning options to keep fabrics and rugs fresh.

A great fit if you:

• Have pets and need specialized attachments for tough accidents on floors and couches.
• Want an upright machine with counter-rotating brushes for deep carpet cleaning.
• Prefer an automated solution mixer rather than measuring detergent by hand.
• Need an extended 8-foot hose to reach stairs and furniture fabrics.

Consider something else if you:

• Need an ultra-lightweight spot-only cleaner rather than a full-size upright unit.
