maXpeedingrods Drywall Sander, 950W 8.5Amp Popcorn Ceiling Removal Tool

The maXpeedingrods Drywall Sander is an all-in-one powered sanding kit designed to smooth drywall, ceilings, plaster, floors, and paint coatings. Built with an 8.5-amp copper motor delivering 950 watts, it gives home DIYers and professional contractors a dedicated solution for tackling large wall surfaces and popcorn ceiling removal without relying on manual sanding blocks.

A major focus of the design is reach and adaptability. The telescopic aluminum handle extends from 2.2 to 5.5 feet, letting you reach high ceilings without climbing a ladder. The sanding head rotates 360 degrees on a pivoting joint and features a detachable outer edge so you can work flush against narrow corners and right angles. Dual-layer LED lights at the base illuminate shadowed spaces, while seven variable speed settings between 800 and 1800 RPM let you match motor speed to delicate plaster or tougher paint layers.

Dust control is handled through a built-in dual-channel extraction system with a variable suction knob. You can run the dust directly into the included collection bag or link it to an external vacuum using the 5-step universal adapter. The kit includes 12 standard discs and 6 reusable mesh discs across 100, 180, and 240 grits, along with safety goggles, earplugs, a mask, gloves, a carrying bag, and replacement carbon brushes.

While the kit includes extensive accessories, there are a few practical trade-offs. The universal vacuum adapter may require cutting to fit your specific vacuum hose diameter, and the motor relies on replaceable carbon brushes that will need maintenance over time. Additionally, the manufacturer does not specify the total weight of the tool, which is an important consideration during extended overhead ceiling work.

Verdict: This drywall sander is a well-rounded choice for homeowners and contractors who need variable speed control, built-in dust extraction, and high reach for ceiling or wall remodeling. With full safety gear and 18 discs in the box, it provides everything necessary to start working immediately.
