BISSELL CrossWave HydroSteam 3-in-1 Wet Dry Vacuum Mop, 35151

The CrossWave HydroSteam 35151 is a 3-in-1 floor cleaner that vacuums, washes, and steams hard floors in a single pass. It is aimed at households dealing with everyday messes, stubborn kitchen grease, and pet hair, where running a vacuum and then a separate mop feels like double the work. If those are your pain points, this machine is designed around solving them together.

The headline feature is HydroSteam Technology, which combines water and steam rather than relying on steam alone. According to internal testing cited by the manufacturer, this combination dissolves grease 20% faster than steam-only cleaners. In practical terms, that means dried-on kitchen spills and greasy footprints are more likely to lift on the first pass instead of requiring repeat scrubbing. The machine is also listed as effective on pet messes, making it a reasonable choice for multi-pet homes where floors take a daily beating.

Two features address the ongoing annoyance of maintaining the machine itself. The tangle-free brushroll is designed to prevent hair from wrapping around it, which is a common frustration with vacuums used around pets or long-haired family members. The dual-tank system keeps fresh cleaning water and collected dirty water in separate compartments, so you are never unknowingly spreading dirty water across a clean floor. When the session is done, a single button press triggers an automatic brushroll cleaning cycle, which saves the unpleasant task of manually pulling debris off the roll.

A few limits are worth keeping in mind. The listing does not state tank capacities, cord length, machine weight, or run time, so shoppers with very large floor areas or specific storage constraints should check those details before purchasing. The multi-function design also means more components than a basic vacuum or mop, which can translate to more parts to maintain over time. The machine is suited to tile, sealed wood, and laminate, but the listing does not cover unsealed wood or stone, so check compatibility if you have those surfaces.

Verdict: This is a well-thought-out option for busy households that want to vacuum and deep-clean floors in one step, especially where pet hair and kitchen grease are regular problems. Shoppers who prefer a simpler, lighter tool for quick daily sweeps may find the feature set more than they need.

A great fit if you:

• Have pets and deal with hair and messes on hard floors regularly
• Want to vacuum and mop in one pass instead of two separate chores
• Have tile, sealed wood, or laminate floors throughout most of your home
• Need a machine that can tackle greasy kitchen spills without heavy scrubbing
• Want a self-cleaning brushroll to reduce post-use maintenance

Consider something else if you:

• Prefer a lightweight, no-frills vacuum or mop for quick daily touch-ups
• Have primarily unsealed wood or surfaces not listed as compatible

Does it vacuum and steam at the same time?
Yes. The 3-in-1 design vacuums, washes, and steams in a single pass, so you do not need to make multiple trips over the same area.

Will it handle pet hair without clogging?
The brushroll is specifically designed to prevent hair wrap, which is the main cause of tangles and clogs in standard vacuums and mop combos used around pets.

Does dirty water mix with the clean water supply?
No. The dual-tank system keeps clean and dirty water in separate compartments throughout the cleaning cycle, so you are always mopping with fresh water.

Can it be used on area rugs?
The listing states that the machine can refresh area rugs using steam, in addition to its primary use on hard floor surfaces like tile, sealed wood, and laminate.
