Shark CarpetXpert HairPro, Upright Carpet & Area Rug Cleaner, EX221BRN

The EX221BRN upright deep cleaner is built to tackle built-up grime, embedded dirt, and stubborn hair across carpets and area rugs. Designed especially for pet owners, it combines high-pressure spray with strong suction to refresh tired fibers and pull up debris that standard vacuuming leaves behind.

Its core cleaning setup relies on CarpetXpert Technology, which pairs a high-speed brushroll with high-pressure PowerSpray. The spray penetrates fibers without oversoaking them, which helps carpets dry faster. Meanwhile, the HairPro system lifts deeply embedded hair, capturing wet or dry strands directly into the system without tangling around the brushroll or clogging internal passages.

To keep the washing process hygienic, a dual-tank system keeps clean water and cleaning solution completely separate from the recovered dirty water. When paired with the included 12 oz Deep Clean Pet solution, the machine traps and removes tough odors like pet urine and smoke rather than simply masking them.

As an upright machine, it is designed strictly for floors and rugs, meaning the listing does not include handheld hose attachments for furniture or tight stair treads. The exact tank capacities and physical weight are also not specified in the data, though the frame is built with a lightweight design to ease movement around the home.

Verdict: This upright cleaner is a reliable choice for households dealing with heavy pet shedding, set-in dirt, and lingering household odors. It offers a straightforward, clog-resistant way to wash large carpeted areas without soaking your floors.

A great fit if you:

• Have shedding pets and need a cleaner that resists hair wrap and clogs.
• Want to wash carpets and area rugs without completely soaking the floor.
• Need to eliminate tough odors like pet urine or smoke from floor fibers.
• Prefer an upright machine with separate clean and dirty water tanks.

Consider something else if you:

• Need specialized handheld tools to clean upholstered furniture or vehicle seats.
• Prefer a machine with clearly stated tank capacities before purchasing.
