Shark CarpetXpert Upright Carpet & Built-in Stain Cleaner, 3 Tools, EX151

The CarpetXpert Upright Carpet Cleaner EX151 tackles deep-set dirt across entire rooms while offering a built-in handheld spot remover for targeted messes. It is designed for households dealing with everyday spills, pet accidents, and older stains embedded in carpet fibers and upholstered furniture.

Deep cleaning relies on CarpetXpert Technology, which combines a high-speed brushroll, high-pressure PowerSpray, and powerful suction. The PowerSpray penetrates deep into carpet fibers to loosen grime without oversoaking them, which helps floors dry faster. For hygiene and convenience, the machine uses a dual tank system that isolates fresh water and cleaning formula from dirty recovered liquid, preventing dirt from spreading back across clean areas.

Above-floor and spot cleaning are handled through the extending handheld tool. The system comes equipped with three distinct attachments: a 3.5-inch reversible bristle tool for focused scrubbing, an integrated crevice tool for tight gaps, and a 7-inch wide-path tool for broader coverage on stairs and couches. When paired with the included 12-ounce Deep Clean Essential Formula, the cleaner is designed to trap and eliminate stubborn odors like pet urine and smoke rather than merely masking them.

In terms of trade-offs, the product information does not list the specific volume capacity of the clean and dirty water tanks, nor does it detail the cord length or machine weight. Buyers with large homes may want to note that exact tank runtimes are unspecified.

Verdict: This upright machine is a strong option for busy households and pet owners needing whole-room carpet extraction alongside versatile spot tools. If you need dedicated tools for stairs, furniture, and odor removal, it offers a well-rounded setup.

A great fit if you:

• Need to clean both full carpeted rooms and targeted spots like stairs or couches
• Live with pets and need to remove lingering urine odors from carpet fibers
• Want dedicated narrow and wide tools for upholstered furniture and tight gaps
• Prefer a dual-tank design that keeps clean and dirty water separate

Consider something else if you:

• Need exact tank capacity measurements before choosing a cleaner
• Prefer a compact, portable-only spot cleaner rather than a full upright unit
