Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop, Black/Brass, AV2613WA

The Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop (model AV2613WA) handles routine floor maintenance across both carpet and hard floor surfaces. Designed in a black and brass finish, it serves as a vacuum on carpets and hard floors while also offering simultaneous dry debris pickup and sonic mopping on hard surfaces.

For debris pickup, the unit uses Matrix Clean navigation, running a precision grid over floors to deliver multiple passes across high-traffic spots. Edge cleaning is handled through CleanEdge Detect, which combines corner recognition with bursts of air to move trapped debris away from baseboards and into the main intake path.

The docking station provides automated maintenance by charging the unit and emptying the onboard dustbin. It features a bagless design capable of holding up to 60 days of collected dirt, removing the need to buy replacement disposal bags. A built-in True HEPA filtration system with an anti-allergen seal works inside the base to trap 99.97% of dust and particles down to 0.3 microns.

When handling larger floor layouts, the unit uses Recharge and Resume technology to head back to the dock when battery levels drop, recharge itself, and return to finish the incomplete area. Buyers should note that while it vacuums both carpets and hard floors, the sonic mopping function is strictly intended for hard flooring.

Verdict: This 2-in-1 automated cleaner is well suited for homes with mixed flooring types looking for combined vacuuming and hard floor sonic mopping. Its 60-day bagless self-emptying base and HEPA filtration make it a convenient, low-maintenance option for regular household cleaning.

A great fit if you:

• Have mixed flooring and want simultaneous vacuuming and sonic mopping on hard floors.
• Want a self-emptying dock that does not require purchasing ongoing replacement bags.
• Need HEPA filtration to trap dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns.
• Have large areas that require automatic recharging and resumed cleaning cycles.

Consider something else if you:

• Only have carpeted floors and have no use for a sonic mopping system.
• Prefer disposable vacuum bags over an emptiable bagless base.

Does the self-emptying base require disposable bags?
No, the self-emptying base uses a bagless design that holds up to 60 days of dirt and debris without requiring additional bag purchases.

How does the robot clean along edges and corners?
It utilizes CleanEdge Detect technology, which recognizes corners and releases air blasts to blow debris away from edges and into the cleaning path.

What happens if the battery runs out during a cleaning session?
With its Recharge and Resume feature, the robot automatically returns to its base to recharge when the battery is low, then resumes cleaning right where it stopped.

What kind of filtration does the dock provide?
The base includes True HEPA filtration with an anti-allergen seal designed to capture and trap 99.97% of dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns.
