Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum, Self-Cleaning, Eggplant, HZ4002

The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 is a corded stick vacuum designed for versatile floor-to-ceiling cleaning without the hassle of hair tangles. Built for homes with mixed surfaces and shedding pets, it packs full-sized cleaning capabilities into a maneuverable stick design that stays under 10 pounds. Its corded design provides continuous power for long cleaning sessions across the entire house.

The core of this vacuum is the DuoClean Detect system, which pairs two specialized brushrolls with Intelli-Sense automation. An ultrasonic sensor detects the surface beneath it and adjusts brushroll speed automatically between hard floors and carpets. Added directional sensing detects whether you are moving forward or backward, directing suction accordingly so you do not leave debris behind on the backstroke. Meanwhile, the self-cleaning brushroll actively prevents hair wrap, making pet hair pickup significantly easier.

Air quality and home freshness are also central to the design. The Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology works with a HEPA filter to trap 99.99% of non-living dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns inside the machine. An integrated Odor Neutralizer Technology cartridge guards against bad odors inside the dust chamber. When your cleaning session is done, the vacuum stands up entirely on its own, avoiding the need to lean it against furniture or mount it to a wall.

As a corded stick vacuum, it requires access to wall outlets, which means managing a cord as you navigate between rooms. The listing also does not specify the exact power cord length or the dust cup capacity, so frequent emptying may be needed in larger homes. Additionally, maintaining the odor-freshening feature will eventually require replacing the interior cartridge.

Verdict: The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 is an excellent choice for pet owners and busy households seeking a lightweight, self-standing stick vacuum with automatic surface adaptation and robust allergen filtration. If you want strong suction in both directions without dealing with tangled hair or battery limits, this model is well worth considering.
