Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra Upright Vacuum

The Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra is an upright vacuum designed specifically to handle heavy dirt and pet hair in larger homes. Built around Radial Root Cyclone technology, it generates strong suction to pull up deep debris across multiple floor surfaces while keeping fine particles contained.

A standout element is the Motorbar cleaner head, which automatically clears hair wraps from the brush bar as you vacuum. To handle different floor textures, three suction modes let you adjust performance for deep-pile carpeting, low-pile rugs, or bare hard floors. Steering is anchored by Dyson Ball technology, which lets you navigate around furniture and corners with a light turn of the wrist.

This Extra package also includes five dedicated attachments to expand your reach beyond open floors. Pet owners can use the groom tool directly on medium- and long-haired animals, while the tangle-free turbine tool cleans hair off car seats and furniture. A stair tool, combination tool, and handy tool holder round out the set for above-floor cleaning, all protected by whole-machine filtration that keeps trapped dust inside the vacuum.

As an upright vacuum engineered for larger spaces, it may feel substantial if you only need to clean compact areas or tight studio apartments. In addition, accessing personalized machine guides and maintenance tips requires registering the unit on the MyDyson app.

Verdict: The Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra is a well-rounded upright for pet owners and larger households dealing with regular fur and debris. Its self-clearing brush bar and specialized grooming attachments make everyday pet maintenance straightforward.
